Precision Tops is a family-owned and -operated business in Bismarck, ND, that specializes in the fabrication and installation of natural stone and quartz countertops and ultra-compact porcelain surfaces. With the dream of owning his own countertop company, Mike started Precision Tops in 2012 and has been providing quality, handcrafted countertops ever since.

Having been in the stone industry for over twenty years, Mike has learned the ins and outs of fabrication and installation from the ground up, in many different ways and in many different markets. He believes that by marrying the traditional techniques to the advantages of modern technology, you can create the quality, handcrafted and customizable countertop of your dreams. This belief has become our company mission of providing cost effective, high quality countertops made to customer specifications, while offering superior service.

The Precision Tops Process

To help us better understand your project, please print out the estimate sheet, fill it out as much as possible and fax, e-mail, or simply bring it with you when you come in to look at the samples. The layout drawing should be with approximate wall to wall dimensions, sink and cooktop placement are very helpful, then based on your drawing we can provide you with an estimate.

You can also use our online get an estimate form to send us your layout and measurements. If you have not yet chosen your granite selection, we can give you prices based on the different price groups of granite or quartz materials. Estimates are usually returned by the next day.

The Showroom

You have ideas and we have the experience to help guide you and bring your dream into reality. Bring in any samples such as a cabinet’s door, tile, floors & wall paint to work with colors and styles. Our sales team will answer any questions you may have and help you choose a proper design for your project. We strive to carry the best selection of material for you to choose from- whether it be quartz or natural stone, as well as remnants for your smaller projects. We also offer a full line up of Blanco and Karran sinks, as well as a stock of Porcelain, and Stainless Steel sinks for kitchen, bars, vanities, & laundry rooms. If you are working with a builder/designer no worries. We will work with your builder/designer every step of the way.

Project Approval

Upon approval of the estimate, we will draw up a Customer Agreement to describe the scope of your project and go over the details with you. With the signing of the agreement, we request a deposit of 55% down to cover material costs. Once the paperwork is taken care of, we will send you off with copies of everything along with a guide on how to care for your countertops and tips to help ensure that template and installation go smoothly.

Templating

For templating, we do not need to remove your existing countertops- so you can use current countertop until installation day. In order to complete the template, your cabinets should be properly installed & leveled in order for us to perfectly install the countertops. We will create a physical template of your countertops. Template takes from 1-2 hours depending on the size and difficulty of the project. All appliances must be at the jobsite during the installation process. Generally, from this point, the fabrication will begin and the install is in approximately 2-3 weeks.

Fabrication

After template we will layout your design on the slabs, where we are looking for the best layout. We will look into all details such as where is the best spot for seams, direction of veins & grain. We have the ability to shape various edges, sink cutouts, corners and shapes that are desired by our customers in our shop with various methods. Some minor cuts and polishing, for example faucet holes, may be done on job site at installation.

Installation

Generally, an average size kitchen countertop installation takes just one day. Our installers will leave your home in exactly the same state it was in when we arrived, that is except for the elegant and functional countertop left behind. At Precision Tops, we know that our excellence in craftsmanship is our best advertisement, and we strive to ensure that every job is completed to the highest standard.
